Sure, you can rummage estate sales in your local retirement communities and find no shortage of steel desks and chairs-pre-ergonomics, but why not visit Sonrisa - a retro office furniture store based out of Los Angeles? The prices are a pocket-bender but the vital protection a steel desk provides during an 8.2 magnitude earthquake is immeasurable. I’m kidding!

ROFL!
I totally love this kind of furniture. The best part about it is if you go to a used furniture store the old retro stuff is the cheapest. I would not pay over $1,000 for a metal desk circa 1960! But great for Sonrisa if they can get someone to pay that much.
that’s one expensive earthquake kit
